All Elite Wrestling makes it return to London in August

American wrestling company, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has announced its return to Wembley Stadium for its ‘All-In’ Pay-per-view event on the 30th of August.

The company had held its first event in Wembley in 2023, but fans never expected they’d return for a second time, never mind a third.

The 2025 event was held in Stateside, but the company released details on the 12th of February that it was finally coming back to the UK this year.

It’s not hard to see why they made this decision as they sold out Wembley on both prior occasions, with the company breaking a Wembley attendance record in its inaugural appearance with a turnstile of 81,035 fans from more than 70 countries.

Returning to the UK with a proper arena show was a no brainer for the company as their local, smaller tours, such as when they appeared in the OVO Hydro were also wildly successful with the queue for merch stands being 30+mins.

AEW originally founded to be counter programming to the WWE by billionaire owner of NFL team, the Jackson Jaguars, Tony Khan.

Khan was also helped along by Cody Rhodes, son of the famous wrestler, Dusty Rhodes, Kenny Omega and brothers, Nick and Matt Jackson.

They made a statement that AEW is what people needed in wrestling as WWE viewers were becoming bored of the bland product that was being pushed out at the time, with AEW’s ‘Dynamite’ show often beating WWE’s ‘NXT’ in the ratings for months at a time.

This has been particularly problematic for WWE in the UK, as even now British wrestling fans are more likely to tune into the AEW product over WWE. A stark contrast to their American counterparts.

The show evolved to move away from being purely focused on anti-programming WWE and mentioning them or their poor booking decisions which resulted in it now becoming its own fully fledged, authentic wrestling promotion.

While Tony Khan’s previous choices have had fans wondering if AEW is going in the right direction, their recent pickup of Tomasso Ciampa and bringing up younger talent like Hook and The Triangle of Madness, made up of Thekla, Julia Hart and Skye Blue, is only helping the company while bringing focus on their future stars.

It also helps that they’ve formally created partnerships with wrestling companies all over the world with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and its sister promotion Stardom, Mexico’s Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and of course, Tony Khans acquisition of Ring of Honor (ROH) – a company many thought had ended.

While no match-card has been released for the event this year, fans can expect to see stars such as Will Ospreay, Jamie Hayter, MJF, Hangman Adam Page, FTR and Jon Moxley.

Tickets for All-In begin on the 16th for those with presale access and the 20th for general onsale.
