Thomas Markle Jnr, the half-brother of Meghan, confirmed that he had handed in four boxes of evidence to police that he had found in their father’s former home, but searches were delayed as a warrant was required.

Markle, 82, moved to the Philippines in January 2025 after suffering from a series of strokes, but returned to the US late last year for medical treatment and rehabilitation.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that Markle’s ex-wife, Roslyn Loveless, sent a letter to the force where she shared her knowledge of allegations made against Markle Snr in 2019. Loveless died in 2024.

The Met have referred themselves to the police watchdog for not passing the letter to other police forces to begin an investigation.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were made aware of the letter at the time, but have only recently commented on the allegations. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex said she was “deeply distressed” and her thoughts were with the alleged victims of her father.

Mr. Markle denies any wrongdoing, describing the allegations made against him as “sick lies.”

Filipino police have said they take any allegations of this nature “very seriously” and that the investigation remains ongoing.
