The first show is on the 30th of June at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool. Opening for MCR is Echo and the Bunnymen. The rock band formed in 1978, with an original line-up made up of Ian McCulloch, Will Sergeant and Les Pattinson. Two years later, Pete de Freitas joined the band. In 1988, lead singer McCulloch left to pursue a solo career but returned in 1997. They're known for their song ‘The Killing Moon’, as well as their dark and atmospheric vibe.

On July 4th, Idlewild opens in Bellahouston Park in Glasgow. The indie band formed in 1995 in Edinburgh, with their line-up including Roddy Woomble, Rod Jones, Colin Newton, Andrew Mitchell and Luciano Rossi. Former member Allan Stewart joins the band during their live performances. Their 10th studio album was released nearly two months ago on October 3rd.

The American emo-rock band formed in 1992 but disbanded and reunited multiple times through their history, with original members William Goldsmith and Nate Mendel joining Foo Fighters after Sunny Day Real Estate’s first disbanding. Their last tour was in 2022, and they’re known for their distinct and signature sound.

The first show in Europe takes place in Florence on July 15th at Visarno Stadium with Interpol opening. The New York City rock band is made up of Paul Banks, Daniel Kessler and Sam Fogarino and they are often associated with the 2000’s post-punk scene.

Mogwai opens the last Europe show at Iberdola Music in Madrid on the 18th. They are a Scottish post-punk band that formed in 1995, made up of Stuart Braithwaite, Dominic Aitchison, Martin Bulloch and Barry Burns. They are known for their soundtracks and cinematic scores, such as their work in ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray (2007)’ and the TV series ‘Black Bird.’

The bands and artists chosen are all a diverse mix of genres, ranging from indie to rock. When announcing the openers on social media, My Chemical Romance only said: “We can’t wait to see all of you.”
