Anthropologie opened its doors on the 12th of November to the first 100 customers in line, they received a goodie bag with the brands ‘most viral’ products along with other benefits like complimentary drinks, live music from DJ Elisha McEleney and being able to personalise purchases on leather.

Anthropologie’s first Scottish store opened in Edinburgh 2011; it was the first UK store outside of London. Glasgow now opens 14 years later making it Anthropologies 19th UK store.

Anthropologie is known for its chic aesthetic that offers a mix of women’s clothing, home décor and accessories. The store offers unique and vintage finds inspired by art, fashion and influence.

Anthropologie comes under the URBN company along with Urban Outfitters, they both have a similar target audience and range of products and yet they both have distinct brand aesthetics. With both stores having a home section, Anthropologie leans more towards the decorative element whereas Urban Outfitters includes large furniture.
