Following nine long years of genre redefining television, Netflix’s blockbuster show Stranger Things is finally coming to an end.

Over the past four seasons we have seen many fan favourites bite the dust. From Billy’s heroic sacrifice at the end of season three, to lovable Russian Alexei being tragically murdered, it’s always hard to process a character’s death.

This begs the question, who will be taken from our screens for the final time?

This question is almost impossible to predict. On one hand, there are characters that you could logically predict to die. But on the other hand, it’s the final season and the Duffer brothers may want to throw as many curveballs as possible for pure shock value.

Here are who I think are most likely to die this season.

Henry Creel/Vecna

Self-explanatory really.

Vecna’s the main villain of the entire show, there would obviously be no point in still having him around when this is supposed to be the last season.

My prediction is that Eleven using all her powers to defeat him with the help of Will.

Jonathan Byers

Jonathan has slowly been building up his courage throughout the seasons, and it would be poetic for it all to pay off with a huge sacrifice that saves one of the kids.

Whether it’s his own brother he’s saving, or any of the core four for that matter, it seems likely that he’ll give up his life.

Also, with the whole love triangle between him, Nancy and Steve, it would be an easy way to hard launch Stancy back together.

Dustin Henderson

Here’s where it gets interesting.

Steve has been prone to sacrificing himself throughout the show yet has always stayed alive. It would be redundant to just kill him off after all the near-death scenes involving him.

Dustin sacrificing himself to save Steve instead? That would be a turn that gets the whole internet in tears.

There’s bound to be a huge, unexpected death since it’s the last season, sadly signs are leading to Dustin.

As Stranger Things enters its final season, we are bracing for emotional shocks and unpredictable losses. It’s tough to accurately predict who is going to die, I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out.
