The stage is set at Hampden Park. Motherwell and St Mirren will be the first of two semi-finals in the Premier Sports Cup.
It all kicks off at 5.30pm this Saturday and is sure to be a great watch for the neutral fan. It's not often that there is a chance for a team outside the big two to get a chance in a cup final to win some silverware, but with the mixed form of both Celtic and Rangers these two sides can have belief to cause an upset.
St Mirren secured their place in the semi-finals after a dramatic penalty shootout left them victorious against Kilmarnock. It was former Buddies player Kyle Magennis who sealed St Mirren's fate, after his penalty was saved by Shamal George.
Motherwell grabbed their place in the semi-finals with a well-earned victory at Pittodrie. Regan Charles-Cook scored his first goal for the Steelmen, giving them the 1-0 win against a struggling Aberdeen side.

In terms of both sides form in the run-up to this fixture, they are pretty different. Motherwell have only lost two of their last 16 games in all competitions. This has been a great start for the side as the introduction of new manager Jens Berthel Askou has been a success up to this point in the season.
Motherwell will be without Eseosa Sule, Filip Stuparevic, Jordan McGhee, Sam Nicholson and Zach Robinson due to injury.
St Mirren haven't been on the best of form as of late, but head into this cup tie having grabbed a draw against the league leaders Hearts in midweek. This will be an extra hint of motivation for the St Mirren players as they gave a good showing of themselves and could have almost grabbed the victory had it not been for their goal being disallowed.

This game could be a cracker; Lanarkshire and Paisley will be watching with hope. The cup dream has a chance of coming true for either of these sides.
