The Indianapolis Colts have taken the NFL by storm this season with the spotlight being put on them. Following years of mediocrity and disappointment the colts have won seven of their first eight games. The Colts have reached the playoffs twice in the past 10 years only winning one of those games, but this year things seem different.
The two-time Super Bowl winners are the team everyone is talking about this season. Being just one win away from their total wins last season where they finished 8-9.
They have played as a unit this season. Key wins against the Chargers, Raiders and Broncos along with back-to-back wins against divisional rivals Tennessee have the Colts taking centre stage.

The success of the Colts this season is largely down to their new quarterback, Daniel Jones. Given the nickname ‘Indiana Jones’ he signed for the Colts from Minnesota in March this year.
Since then, he has been named their new starting quarterback and shown some excellent form. Eight games into the season, Jones already has 1,790 passing yards, 10 touchdown passes and four rushing touchdowns.
Although Daniel Jones has played a key role in the Colts success this season, it’s the Colts defence that has gained the most attention. Their only loss came in game week four where they narrowly lost to the LA Rams after two late touchdowns. DeForest Buckner and Nick Cross have been crucial in their success so far this season with a combined 59 tackles between them both, as well as Buckner having four sacks.

Indianapolis have managed a total of 1.09 points per minute of possession, the best in the NFL currently. They face Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers next, a game that will test them before they face up against Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs.
These matchups will be a good test for the Colts, and they will be pushed to their limit to see if they are going to become just another Playoff team or serious Super Bowl contenders.
