Three of the Best Cafés for Studying In Glasgow

With colleges and universities well into the new term, and some classes remaining online, you might be feeling a little bit bored of sitting at your desk listening to your Zoom lectures. Here are three of the best cafés in Glasgow where you can study, Zoom and drink coffee to your heart’s content.

Tinderbox

With multiple locations around the city, including Princes Square and Ingram Street, Tinderbox is a great place to sit down, relax, get your laptop out and crack on with some work. All whilst enjoying a lovely hot (or cold) beverage from their delicious drinks menu. Most of their locations have beautiful, rustic seating areas, so you can even get a great Instagram story to document your day. Tinderbox has free Wi-Fi in their coffee shops, so you can surf the web and join Zoom lectures without the worry of using up your precious mobile data!

iCafe

Another great place for studying is iCafe. They have many locations dotted around the Glasgow area, two of which are located in the city centre (Ingram Street) and Glasgow’s West End (Great Western Road). Their cafés have lots of seating and their food and drinks menu has a wide variety of delicious coffees, cakes, and smoothies for you to enjoy whilst studying. Their cafés also have free Wi-Fi for you to use throughout your visit.

Spitfire

Spitfire Espresso Bar is a coffee shop located just over the road from iCafe in the Merchant City. Spitfire is much smaller than a typical coffee shop, providing a warm and cosy atmosphere for your studying. Although, there is only a limited amount of seating available. It would be advisable to arrive earlier in the day and grab a seat before anyone else does! Their menu has several breakfast and lunch items to be eaten with your delicious cup of coffee. They also serve a small range of beers, wines, and gin - if you’re in the mood for a tipple.
